Resumen
This research shows the potential role of ethnic restaurants at generating regions in motivating customers to visits the destination of origin of the food tasted at the restaurants and in improving its image. When focusing on food experience, past studies have focused on food consumption at the destination. This study shows instead that food is capable of positively influencing potential tourists’ experiences also when consumed in the country of origin. Several implications can be drawn from the results of this work. In particular, related to the cooperation between national tourism boards and ethnic restaurants based at main origin markets.
