Resumen
Perceiving to stay at a safe place has probably become one of tourists’ priorities. We investigate the determinants of the satisfaction for the safety dimension of the tourists who visited Trentino, a lakes and mountains destination in the North of Italy, in summer 2020. The data we use (about 27.000 observations) come from a survey administered to the holders of Trentino Guest Card, a destination card included in the tourist tax. We consider the conditional correlation with the type of destination (lakes, mountains, city) and the type of tourism accommodation. We focus also on subjective elements. Among our covariates, we consider the incidence of COVID in a tourist's province of origin, assuming a higher incidence makes a tourist more sensitive to health risks, hence more likely not to be fully satisfied.
