Resumen
We propose a Power Law model to replicate and forecast sectoral final demand based on a statistical analysis. In specific, we identify the distribution that best describes the dynamics of sectoral final demand. We found that the most frequent best fit was a power law distribution.
Results give evidence that the Power Law model can replicate closely French Data. Therefore, our main contribution is the method we apply to propose a model to replicate and forecast based on the statistical distribution that best described the data. We interprete and explain the model according to the context of the data. In particular, we connect our results to the complexity approach to economics. The method we apply is a powerful tool for economic policy design, for generating data to feed dynamic input-output models, and for the study of the mechanism behind the input-output structure.
